On May 18, 40 days after Easter, the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church celebrated the Feast of the Ascension of Jesus Christ, which the people also call the Feast of Fate or Katnapur. Being closely related to Holy Easter, the Ascension Day is one of the moveable feasts of the Armenian Apostolic Church, that is to say, it’s celebrated on different days every year.

Encouraging the preservation of Armenian traditions, Artissimo NGO also celebrated the Ascension Day by implementing an interesting “Arvestanots”.
During the event, the children, wearing wreaths made of beautiful flowers, performed thematic songs and dances, and afterwards, together with their mothers, they made the symbol of the day – the “Vichak Arus” doll.

At the end of the event the participants played an interesting game (casting of lots), through which one more tradition of the holiday was carried out.

The feast was really nice, the children and their mothers got familiar with another Armenian celebration, enjoyed the day, received many positive emotions and of course, gifts, unique dolls made by themselves.
